This project has got to be one of the most complex residential homes we’ve ever worked on but also one of my absolute favorites! It really pushed me to think outside the box, especially when it came to blending old and new materials while preserving the character of a heritage home. This house has been standing since the 1970s, and get this: the original design plans were ALL hand-drawn! How amazing is that?
So when the clients decided to finally give their beloved home a full renovation, it only felt right to approach it with extra care and thought. We wanted to breathe new life into the space without losing its soul — keeping the natural stone and Narra wood elements that makes this home timeless.
(Here’s a glimpse of what’s included in our 3D Design Plans Package, a comprehensive signed and sealed ID Plans as your design reference!)Of course, these didn’t happen overnight. We went through several design iterations to find the perfect balance that honored both the home’s history and the client’s vision. Like in all our projects, once we completed the schematic phase, we present the “rough sketches” or 2D perspectives on our design development stage that help clients visualize the layout, scale, and proportions of their future home.

We initially leaned on the original aesthetics of the house, aiming to preserve the design and just do spot repairs and minor renovation on other areas. The Kitchen Cabinet for example, were initially planned to be preserved and bleached. This version reminds me of a countryside farmhouse!
It’s always such a rewarding process, seeing how an old space can transform into something fresh yet familiar — a beautiful fusion of the past and the present.
